Report: SHAPE the Future – Resilience, recovery and renewal

Written evidence from After the End project is included in the The British Academy Report: 𝗦𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗘 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 – 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗹.

The report provides a synthesis of the relevant evidence from within the British Academy’s research networks on the state of play five years on from the publication of the ‘Covid Decade’ reports. These reports sought to understand the long-term societal impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic crisis and to explore what steps policymakers could take to respond.

The report recognises findings from the After the End project that a key point of learning from COVID is that crises do not have a singular framing or clear ‘end’ point – ignoring this can make recovery harder for the most impacted individuals and communities.
